About The Position

The Day Shift Assembly Supervisor oversees the construction of assigned projects as directed by the Senior Supervisor and planning team. He or she will be responsible to enforce all safety protocols put in place as well as contribute to creating and maintaining a strong safety culture. Evaluate and promote employee skill development, approve time, and report on productivity. Ensures assigned deliverables are completed per project schedules or contingency plans. Directly responsible for the completion of assembly work accurately, within budget, and to a high-quality standard.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years' experience packaging natural gas equipment.
  • Must be able to interpret engineering drawings such as P&IDs, General Arrangements, and Electrical drawings.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office software such as Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Basic familiarities with ERP systems, such as SAP Project Systems (PS) and Production Planning (PP)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be dependable, highly motivated, self-directed, have attention to detail, and have great organizational skills with a minimum amount of daily direct supervision

Responsibilities

  • Direct the assembly team, based on Senior Supervisor assigned daily tasks. Technical Specialist and Engineering input, to efficiently construct the project per drawings and the Assembly build Sequence (ABS)
  • Provide periodic project status updates to Senior Supervisor regarding assigned daily task progress of walkdown schedule dates, material risks, and assembly build challenges.
  • Direct and coach team members to achieve consistency across single design multi-build projects and similar products.
  • Review Assembly kickoff meeting content to gain understanding of the scope of work, seek clarifications, and provide feedback as applicable.
  • Approve labor hours.
  • Participate in the interview process and vet potential candidates for all assembly trades.
  • Provide feedback on employee skill level vs performance to Senior Supervisor(s) to allow for necessary adjustments and balancing amongst the teams.
  • Prepare for the assembly process by reviewing all applicable project information and deliverables produced by Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering during the Assembly Kick Off Meetings (AKOM)
  • Periodically report to Senior Supervisor(s) regarding project assembly labor costs such as usage of consumable materials, actual hours vs planned hours, and overtime.
  • Support the Senior Supervisor(s) and the planning team to achieve contingency plans and revised assembly target dates to meet customer expectations.
  • Leadership for the Enerflex 5S program.
  • Work with Senior supervisor and Safety committee to promote safety culture.
  • Provide feedback to Manufacturing Engineering regarding Assembly Build Sequences (ABS), planned hours and duration.
  • Manage activities with internal functional areas to support internal or external customer changes.
  • Completion and proper sign-off of the GPS Traveler for each module/project.
  • Ensure overall quality of the projects is to highest standard.
  • Coordinate with Material Control, Fabrication, and Paint to prioritize material deliveries to the floor.
  • Enforcement of safety protocols and programs such as AWARE Cards, Take5, JSA, JRA's and safety topics
  • Coordinate with the Manufacturing Engineering group and Senior Supervisor(s) on scheduled trade meeting events and training in a timely manner (prior to the needed skill or increased demands).
  • Provide feedback to the Senior Supervisor(s) regarding headcount requirements, resource capabilities and skill levels.
  • Suggest the direct hire of contract employees based on resource demands and skill level, as applicable.
  • Coordinate with Technical Specialists to achieve realistic and efficient ABS plans and layouts.
  • Provide feedback to other Supervisors, Manufacturing Engineers, and other team members regarding potential process improvements.
  • Senior Supervisor and Technical Specialist to assign levels to employees.
