About The Position

If you are front line Supervisor looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Mansfield, MA location, you will be responsible for the supervision and leadership of our union hourly Valve Assembly Department. You will be accountable for managing the day-to-day operations to maximize production while improving our safe workplace, reducing costs, improving quality, and meeting customer requirements. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: Promote the Safety culture as our number one priority. Establish safe and productive work environment through positive reinforcement of safety policies, hazard identifications, and continuous improvement initiatives. Be involved in our Safety audits and committees as well as 5’s activities. Develop the daily work schedule and assign employees to areas of the department based on workload. Ensure all documentation is clear and legible i.e., test reports, paint reports, etc. Ensure closing-out of operational steps on routings. Maintain and evaluate employee training/maintain employee qualifications. Identify training gaps or additional qualifications needed. Develop best practices and document new and tribal knowledge. Areas of direct responsibility- Nuclear VA (valve assembly), Navy VA, Large VA, sand blast, and paint and steam testing. Follow and abide by our Union agreement contract and support/communicate with all supervisors for consistent messaging. Assist in making equipment and staffing decisions to support long-term business levels. Periodically evaluate group and individual performance through both formal and informal reviews. Support cross training for all team members based on business needs. Lead problem solving activities of any issue related to Valve assembly and supporting departments. For This Role You Will Need: High School Diploma Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment Strong leadership and team management skills Attention to detail and problem-solving skills Ability to support and maintain a culture of teamwork and collaboration while holding employees accountable MS Office skills Legal Authorization to work in the United States – sponsorship will not be provided for this role

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to support and maintain a culture of teamwork and collaboration while holding employees accountable
  • MS Office skills
  • Legal Authorization to work in the United States – sponsorship will not be provided for this role

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing technologies and/or assembly process.
  • Experience with valves a plus
  • Ability to create and maintain strong working relationships throughout all levels of management
  • Experience with Oracle
