Assembly Supervisor

About The Position

An Assembly Supervisor oversees the build, assembly, and test of products or components (pumps, fluid ends, and flow line products). This includes monitoring team productivity and the flow of goods in WIP (work in process) to meet build schedules. The lead ensures adherence to safety protocols and work instructions and performs troubleshooting of any issues the assembly team encounters.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2-5 years’ experience in the oil & gas industry preferred.
  • 2-5 years' experience in production and assembly management, including inventory management & production deadlines.
  • Supervisor experience preferred.
  • Ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English.
  • Must be able to adhere to process protocol
  • Strong work ethics of integrity and honesty striving for excellence in all activities employing accompanying communication.

Responsibilities

  • Review work instructions and build schematics prior to assembly and relate to assembly team.
  • Support the assembly team with ensuring that materials, parts, and tools needed for the assembly tasks are available.
  • Oversee and assist in the assembly of job components using hand tools and power tools following blueprints, schematics or instructions.
  • Review the Inspection and testing of components and finished products for defects, ensuring they meet specifications.
  • Supervise and train assembly personnel.
  • Keep work area clean, organized and safe.
  • Monitor the assembly team’s productivity and the flow of goods in WIP.
  • Review completed job related paperwork or required documentation, including inventory used, and report issues.
  • Analyze and issue recommendations to manager around team’s production and performance as needed.
  • Quickly ascertain problems and be decisive in solving problems, such as identifying defects in the production line that would jeopardize quality and schedule.
  • Analyze assembly bottlenecks/problems and implement counteractive measures and escalate as needed.
