The Assembly Supervisor is responsible for supervising production employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, able to work well under pressure, manage and prioritize multiple initiatives concurrently, attend to details and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to be flexible, adaptable and change priorities in a fast pace work environment of a seasonal business, allowing for optimum effectiveness
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including listening and offering positive and constructive feedback
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds at all levels of organization and work with cross-functional team
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred; minimal education high school diploma and three (3) years of previously supervisory experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as previous SAP experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and coordinates activities of production employees
  • Creates and maintains an environment that promotes safety for people and processes
  • Conducts training of new and existing employees to include work methods and procedures.
  • Interacts with team members daily and acts as front line supervisor in resolving issues, coaching and counseling, maintaining efficient, orderly workflow and a safe working environment
  • Ensures all quality standards are met in the production process
  • Maintains reports on labor, accuracy, productivity and other related reporting
  • Complies with all required employment laws and OSHA regulations and policies
  • Utilizes SAP and other supporting systems for efficient operations
  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  • Checks inventory to ascertain that all necessary parts and quantities are available, and if necessary, confer with production planners or other departments
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Communicates with other departments in plant to establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Maintains time and attendance records using Kronos applications
  • Maintains a clean and safe working environment in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Identify and apply Lean methodologies to ensure processes are scientifically controlled and continuously improved.
