What this looks like: 1st Shift starting pay: $27.20/hour 1st Shift: Monday-Thursday 7:00 am - 4:30 pm, Friday 7:00 am - 11:00 am Occasional Overtime will be required on the weekends and when the assembly lines are shut down. (Depending on projects needed to improve PQVC)

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Advanced level (can train others) of knowledge of Standard Assembly tools and their applications
  • Advanced level (recognized subject matter expert) of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint,etc.)
  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods
  • Ability to perform repetitive operations
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs

Nice To Haves

  • At least Beginner/Novice (Some exposure/still learning) of proficiency in New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • At least 1 year of experience in Project Management
  • Expert level of proficiency in recognizing or describing the mechanical functions and specifications of products and/or parts.
  • Expert level of proficiency working with Standard Operating Procedures or Standard Work.
  • Advanced level of proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and geometrics
  • A basic understanding of AutoCad
  • 2 or 4 yr. technical degree (i.e. Mfg. Technology, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering)
  • Operations/Industrial Planning Experience
  • Effective Communication

  • Advanced Computer and Caterpillar Systems Knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Create tool lists for assembly.
  • Provide tooling support to the line as needed including: battery repair, DC electric and air-torque tooling, preventative maintenance tools, and tooling calibration.
  • Develops final work orders which detail processing steps and procedures, identified component parts, specifies technical aspects of part installation or application and identifies tooling or fixtures required for production.
  • Performs changes and updates to standard work schedules and other relevant assembly procedures based on Engineering input.
  • Create documentation required for capital maintains both capital and expense budget accounts.
  • Follows and utilizes Caterpillar Production System principles of 5S, Continuous Improvement Idea Reporting, Waste Elimination, and Standard Work.
  • Relies on independent decision-making and problem solving to complete job tasks.
  • Must meet deadlines.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work.
  • Use Engineering prints and release notices to develop production operation sequence and documents in assembly routing system.
  • Develop layouts using CAD system and identifies material locations.
  • Download tool data and provides analyzed torque data to Certification Team and creates and maintains data files on torque tools specified by Certification Team.
  • Utilizes systems such as CAD, Bin System, and Team Center.
  • Cross-functional communication to complete tasks.
  • Provide summaries to leadership.
