About The Position

Job Summary: The Assembly Operator is responsible for performing hands-on tasks required in the assembly of light- and medium-duty commercial vehicles. This includes following standardized work procedures, using hand and power tools, and ensuring quality and safety in every task. Assembly Operators work in a team-based environment to meet production goals and support continuous improvement. This position is critical to maintaining production flow and delivering vehicles that meet Isuzu’s standards of safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum one year of work experience
  • Ability to follow standard work instructions and complete tasks consistently
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Ability to follow directions, learn new tasks quickly, and maintain attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic and dependability
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork

  • Ability to work on-site in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures
  • Ability to stand, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. regularly and occasionally up to 60 lbs.
  • Comfortable wearing PPE including uniform, bump cap or hard hat, safety shoes, gloves, ear protection, and eye protection
  • Visual acuity for performing inspections and reading instructions
  • Flexibility to work overtime or alternate shifts as required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in manufacturing or automotive assembly preferred, but not required
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, or production equipment is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assembles vehicle components on production line using standard work procedures and tools
  • Follows work instructions, visual aids, and takt-time schedules for assigned workstation
  • Inspects work for accuracy and quality according to defined standards
  • Uses torque tools, hand tools, and other equipment in a safe and controlled manner
  • Communicates abnormalities or quality concerns to Team Leader or Supervisor
  • Participates in daily startup activities, team meetings, and safety huddles
  • Supports changeover, model change, and line rebalancing activities as directed
  • Maintains clean and organized work area in line with 5S and safety protocols
  • Adheres to all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Assists teammates and rotate into other assembly positions as needed
  • Assists with hoist operation and safe handling of heavy industrial components as directed
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support company and department goals
  • Performs hands-on assembly of components and vehicle systems
  • Conducts quality checks and report issues to leadership
  • Participates in daily startup, 5S, and improvement activities
  • Rotates between workstations and assist with line support as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support company and department goals
