As an Assembly Operator I within our brand-new WM, America Manufacturing Inc. site, you will be instrumental in the success of our products being at or above our customers' requirements and standards. Accordingly, you will be responsible for product movement, monitoring and identifying quality issues to achieve required quality standards. You will be involved in proposing continuous improvement initiatives and opportunities for the business to excel, and for you to feel proud of your daily accomplishments. Requirements

  • Be organised, methodical, resilient and approachable with strong communication skills

  • Experience of manual assembly techniques

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with 5S and Safety tasks associated with good manufacturing practices
  • Manufacturing of Peristaltic Pumps, Tubing-based Single Use assemblies, and Re-packaged goods
  • Collecting and recording relevant process data
  • Assisting engineering with validation and experimental activities
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement throughout the manufacturing process and working with team members to recommend and implement solutions
  • Follow company procedures and directives
  • Maintain the tools used to create products
  • Keep a clean and well-maintained workspace
  • Comply with company regulations and operating procedures
  • Maintain a helpful and collaborative culture through communication and a strong work ethic
  • Cross train as required within the Value Stream
  • Carry out any other activities to support the business as required
  • Utilizing the escalation process when appropriate
  • Lead our #1 priority: the health, wellbeing and safety of our colleagues, contributing to the creation of a strong safety culture at the new facility
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of industry safety standards and regulations, which will allow you to safely operate machinery and use resources appropriately
  • Focus on correct quantities of components, and checking quality of completed items
  • Manage parts inventory and potentially use hand tools and mechanical equipment to produce structurally sound products and structures safely
  • Troubleshoot problems with issued equipment and service it to ensure it works properly
  • Use critical thinking to quickly interpret schematics and identify possible misprints or issues in the quality of materials you use
  • Support in the develop and fostering of a broad quality community across Supply, Sales, Product and Design functions
  • Create and monitor appropriate KPIs and targets for Quality to analyse performance and drive improvement
  • Ensure regulatory compliance
  • Develop and implement best practice processes and principles, through review of internal best practices, external trends and external networks
  • Carry out production instructions from beginning to end with the help of other manufacturing specialists on the line
  • Engage with other parts of the business to effectively embed the Company values
  • Represent WM, America Manufacturing Inc. and WMFTS at internal and external events, conference and meetings, where appropriate
  • Understand that the effective implementation of Strategy25 is fundamental to the future success of WMFTS and apply a ‘transformational’ mind-set at all times
  • Identify any defective items and handle them according to established procedures
