About The Position

Matthews International is seeking a qualified Assembly Operator to work in our Production Facility in the Richmond, IN area for our memorialization business segment. The Assembly Operator will be responsible for the assembly of products, parts, or materials by using hand tools, jigs, fixtures, adhesives, and fasteners to specific standards in a safe and efficient manner to produce product, parts, and / or materials according to production standards and schedules. Starting Hourly Pay rate of $18 plus full benefits starting day one which includes: Medical, Dental, Vision, Near site clinic, Flexible Saving Account (FSA), short and long term disability (after 90 days), life insurance, earned time off (starts accruing immediately), 401(k) retirement plan with company match and employee stock purchase plan. Requirements

  • 1+ year of production or machine operator experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possess a mechanical aptitude; ability to use a large variety of hand tools and basic knowledge of power tools, measuring tools, etc.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
  • Attention to detail and ability to read production documents.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Working with production supervisors and operating various machinery to meet production needs.
  • Determining parts to be manufactured based upon orders and stock.
  • Observe and maintain machinery operation and identifying and defects or malfunctions.
  • Multi tasking and cross training in other departments and machines.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
