Job Summary: The Assembly Operator I operates automated assembly machines and performs secondary operations safely as needed to complete work orders. What you will be doing: Machine Operation Operate assigned automated assembly machines safely and efficiently. Perform in-line welding when required by the production process. Change reels at the completion of each lot, verify reel/lot counts, and apply correct labeling. Quality Control & Inspection Conduct thorough visual inspections to identify malformed or damaged parts. Perform all required measurements—camber, twist, hard gauge checks, insertion force, and withdrawal force and record results on the QIP Inspection Data Sheet. Documentation & Reporting Accurately complete all required paperwork, including Work order traveler, Lot/Reel labels, Box Content Form, Machine Maintenance Schedule, Any other assigned production records. Materials & Workflow Management Maintain adequate supplies at each assigned machine to ensure timely completion of work orders. Empty bins at assigned machines at the end of each shift, at minimum. Move finished products to the designated warehouse area in accordance with established procedures. Other duties: Perform related duties as assigned. Follow documented policies and procedures as designated by the company’s Employee Handbook and Local Work Rules. In addition, adhere to the proper Code of Conduct while on company property.
