About The Position

Assembly Mechanic - Non- Destructive Test Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for Assembly Mechanic – Non-Destructive Test (NDT) to join our Fabrication Quality team located in Hazelwood, MO. Employees will be required to obtain Boeing NDT certification and pass a vision exam. Failure to achieve or maintain certification requirements may lead to termination of employment. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. Must present their previous training and certification records upon hire.

Requirements

  • NDT Level II Training - 32 hours of formal training (16 in magnetic particle and 16 in dye penetrant) a. Candidates for NDT certification to all levels must complete sufficient formal training to become proficient with the principles and practices of the applicable test methods and techniques, and be capable of carrying
  • Must have a minimum of 400 documented experience hours performing Penetrant Testing.
  • Must have a minimum of 530 documented experience hours performing Magnetic Particle Testing.
  • Must be able to pass the vision requirements of BSS7698/NAS410.
  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor, 3 years' related work experience, etc.).
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required
  • The selected candidate must be able to work any shift, as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Have the skills and knowledge to set up and standardize equipment, conduct system performance checks, process parts, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document results.
  • Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the technique and/or Method in which they are certified.
  • Have the skills and knowledge to conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard.
  • Be familiar with the codes, standards, and other contractual specifications that control the Method used at their Site.
  • Have a basic knowledge of relevant product manufacturing and inspection technology.
  • Be capable of providing the necessary guidance and/or supervision to trainees and Level 1 personnel in the technique and/or method in which they are certified.
