No matter what stage of your career, you can build your future at Tempur Sealy! A forklift operator is responsible for driving a sit down and/or standup forklift. This includes, but is not limited to operating a boom, scoop, lift boom with swivel hook, fork grapple, clamps, elevating platform or trailer hitch to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment or materials. Performs all of these responsibilities while creating a safe work environment for him/her and all other technicians.

Requirements

  • Must be 18+ years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred
  • Must be able and willing to work overtime and flexible hours during high demand production seasons
  • Knowledge of PC usage and basic data entry operations is preferred
  • Forklift experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety guidelines and participate as a fully empowered team member to achieve organization-wide goal of zero incidents
  • Follow specific instructions on completing tasks assigned and can make suggestions for improvement
  • Lead by example, representing the company’s mission, vision, and core values and promoting a positive environment.
  • Forklift certified in the standup and/or sit down forklift and all attachments.
  • Maintain high quality and efficient operation of equipment.
  • Perform daily forklift safety inspections.
  • Learn and carry out department processes and procedures.
  • Positions forks, lifting platform or other lifting device under, over or around loaded pallets skids, boxes, products or materials and transports load to designated area.
  • Load or unload materials onto or off of pallets, skids or lifting device.
  • May use inventory management scanners.
  • Maintain, charge and/or refuel and clean equipment, as necessary.
  • May participate in inventory.
  • Assists with other tasks, as needed.
