About The Position

Position Summary: Fabrication Assembly Lead 2nd ShiftOur Batavia location is hiring a Fabrication Assembly Lead. This position follows the Mechanical layouts and the general assembly layouts and other written and verbal specifications. Also maintains production for the team in the Fabrication area keeping the team on track with work load Work You’ll Do: Read, comprehend, and interpret mechanical drawings also have understanding of tooling used in fabrication . Set the department / area standards in housekeeping, attendance, and teamwork by example. Perform all mechanical operations. Communicate any discrepancies or errors on prints, materials list etc. Work with minimal supervision. Recognize problems during assembly, take appropriate corrective action to resolve them. Produce quality work in a time frame that meets the expectation of the Team/Group Leads. Complete Lockout / Tag out training using all required items when performing Lockout. Work safely and in an environmentally responsible manner.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate personal leadership; actively participate in or lead problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Demonstrate flexibility when confronted with high stress / emergency situations, priority changes, or new assignments.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • 3 to 5 years of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Recognize problems with electrical designs and parts, take appropriate corrective action to resolve them.
  • Recommend improvements for work area, products, and processes.
  • Perform prototype work with limited Engineering and minimal supervision.
