Assembly Line Leader (1st shift) Position Summary Do you enjoy leading a team by helping them to learn and to achieve goals? We're looking for a motivated and experienced Assembly Line Leader to join our gro wing team and help lead daily work in our Assembly operation. This role is responsible for coordinating team members, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining throughput on the assembly line. You will lead a team responsible for assembling metal components and preparing them for final packaging and shipment. The ideal candidate has experience in metal assembly processes, leads by example, and can thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in an assembly or packaging operation
  • Prior experience in a lead, team leader, or supervisory role
  • Experience in mechanical or hardware assembly and packaging of finished goods
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, work instructions, and quality standards
  • Comfortable working with hand tools, air tools, and basic measuring equipment
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot conveyors and assembly equipment
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and quality control
  • Capable of reading production schedules and interpreting work instructions or blueprints
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with a focus on teamwork and accountability
  • Comfortable using basic computer systems and production tracking tools
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods in a production environment
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications are a plus
  • Team player with demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals at all organizational levels

Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily operations of the assembly and packaging line
  • Train, coach, and provide daily direction to team members to improve productivity and skills
  • Assign tasks and monitor the performance of line workers to meet production goals
  • Ensure all parts are assembled to proper specifications and meet internal and customer quality standards
  • Train new team members and reinforce best practices for safety, quality, and efficiency
  • Coordinate with upstream (powder coat) and downstream (shipping) teams to maintain workflow
  • Inspect assembled products for accuracy, fit, finish, and labeling prior to packaging
  • Verify packaging materials, labels, and documentation are correct and complete
  • Monitor and report performance metrics in real-time, such as output, downtime, rework, and scrap
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with OSHA and company guidelines
  • Report equipment issues, quality concerns, and production delays to supervisors and maintenance teams, helping to create and implement solutions
  • Maintain accurate production records and communicate shift reports
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to reduce waste, improve finishes, and increase efficiency
