The Assembly Team Lead is responsible for coordinating and performing the assembly of subassemblies, accessories, and final assemblies. Possesses strong knowledge in electrical and mechanical assembly and oversees the workflow of individual components through small to large assemblies. Utilizes hand tools, jigs, fixtures, and miscellaneous power tools and equipment. Has attained full proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to assembly and provides day‑to‑day guidance to the assembly team while working independently within established procedures.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Working knowledge of operations/manufacturing systems, MRP concepts, and MS Office.
  • High‑energy, self‑motivated team player with the ability to multi‑task and support others.
  • Experienced with material flow through a manufacturing facility.
  • Willing to flex working hours to support customer and production needs.
  • Able to maintain clean, organized work areas and support team adherence to guidelines.
  • Quality – Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and helps ensure team quality standards are met.
  • Productivity – Meets productivity standards and helps monitor team output.
  • Safety and Security – Observes, models, and reinforces safety and security procedures.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent desired; 10+ years related experience in a technically oriented position, including leadership or mentoring responsibilities, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provides on‑the‑job training, guidance, and support to assembly team members.
  • Advocates for Design for Assembly and Continuous Improvement ideas and suggestions.
  • Performs and oversees electrical and mechanical assembly of machines and machine options.
  • Helps troubleshoot and resolve assembly errors quickly and effectively; assists team members in problem‑solving.
  • Reads and comprehends method sheets, work instructions, and basic engineering drawings; supports others in understanding them.
  • Provides feedback to cross‑functional manufacturing teams to improve processes and product quality.
  • Helps coordinate daily tasks, priorities, and workflow in alignment with the supervisor's direction.
  • Accurately prepares and verifies assigned paperwork and documentation.
  • Provides assistance during monthly and yearly physical inventory.
  • Utilizes, maintains, and ensures proper care of all Sharp Packaging supplied tools across the team.
  • Performs other job‑related duties as assigned, subject to reasonable accommodations.
