Job Description Summary Under direction of a degreed engineer, performs a variety of basic to moderately-difficult engineering projects that require a fundamental knowledge of design/drafting standards, practices, and techniques. The incumbent at this level typically takes engineering notes, specifications, rough sketches, etc., and formalizes them into working drawings. Assignments are designed to develop a practical knowledge of equipment, facilities, and systems, and their interrelationships within a particular engineering discipline.

Requirements

  • Requirements include PC literacy
  • Working knowledge of CAD
  • Working knowledge of other computer software used to complete design assignments
  • Literate in PC software, a working knowledge of CAD, and other computer software used to complete design assignments.
  • Incumbent must be enrolled in an Engineering curriculum at an accredited college or university have completed typically 1+ year of studies in a major Engineering discipline (e.g., Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Assisting engineers with technical tasks, troubleshooting, and problem-solving
  • Working with cross-functional teams, including other engineers, designers, and stakeholders, to achieve project goals.
  • Preparing technical documentation, reports, and manuals.
  • Assisting with project support tasks, including scheduling, tracking progress, and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Conducting research to support engineering projects and staying updated on industry trends and technologies.
  • Participating in quality assurance processes, including inspections and audits.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
