About The Position

The position involves working under the general direction of the Quality Team Leader with minimal supervision. The primary responsibilities include performing dimensional and visual inspections of complex in-process and completed assemblies. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to interpret various technical documents such as assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, specifications, and operation routing sheets.

Requirements

• Ability to perform dimensional and visual inspections of complex assemblies.
• Familiarity with assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
• Experience in recording and reporting non-conforming conditions.
• Knowledge of inspection tools and techniques.
• Ability to communicate effectively with engineers and inspectors.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with control charts and histograms.
• Familiarity with company/customer specified sampling plans.
• Participation in improvement activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional and visual inspection of complex in-process and completed assemblies.
• Inspect complex subassemblies and completed units according to assembly drawings and specifications.
• Record non-conforming conditions and data as required.
• Review test data sheets for subassemblies and final products for completeness and compliance.
• Confirm that assembly tools and fixtures produce acceptable products through inspection.
• Check assembly test panels and chassis for identification and compatibility.
• Record inspection results and complete required documentation sign off.
• Occasionally inspect templates, jigs, fixtures, and gauges to ensure compliance with gauge standards.
• Report discrepancies that could lead to defective products.
• Coordinate with product and quality assurance engineers to communicate non-conforming conditions.
• Assist in formulating recommendations for process corrections to reduce defects.
