Who we’re looking for Toyota’s Final Assembly Engineering Planning Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Assembly Engineer. The primary responsibility of this role is to support the development and preparation of new vehicle models at all NAMC (North America Manufacturing Center) sites. Reporting to the Final Assembly Engineering Manager, the person in this role will support the Final Assembly’s department's objective to plan future model activities across NAMC’s. What you’ll be doing Project Planning for upcoming model changes Simultaneous Engineering for vehicle assembly with TMC (Toyota Motor Corporation & TTC (Toyota Technical Center)) Standardize systems and procedures across all NAMC’s New Technology investigations and proof of concepts Close collaboration between both internal and external groups across Toyota including NAMC’s, TMC, TTC, PE support shops, & Plano divisions

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering or related field, or 3 years of relevant experience in automotive manufacturing
  • At least 2 years of experience working in Production Engineering or Manufacturing Preparation
  • Experience in 3D design software (AutoCAD, CATIA, SolidWorks, etc.)
  • Ability to work up to 20% overtime when required
  • Ability to travel up to 30% to all NAMC’s as well as Japan/Canada/Mexico
  • This position requires driving. A motor vehicle record that’s acceptable by company standards is required for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in new model launch preparations
  • Experience in Assembly Engineering (PE/NAMC) or vehicle design
  • Experience in internal logistics space planning
  • Proficient Microsoft office skills (eg. Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Completion of TBP (Toyota Business Process) through panel
