Where You Will Work Consolidated Aerospace Manufacturing (CAM)/EA Patten is the primary division of Stanley Black & Decker Aerospace, with locations in Manchester and Columbia, CT. We are a leading innovator and strategic partner in the manufacturing of fasteners, fittings, tubing assemblies and engineered products for the aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. CAM is currently comprised of nine subsidiaries across the United States split among three segments. Who You Are Working on 2nd shift in our Manchester CT facility, the Assembler is responsible for the assembly of aerospace components to customer specifications.

Requirements

  • Technical Knowledge: Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Manual Dexterity: Excellent manual dexterity and strong attention to detail are essential for working with intricate components and precision assembly.
  • Tool Proficiency: Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
  • Quality Focus: Commitment to maintaining high-quality standards and ensuring compliance.
  • Communication: Good communication and interpersonal skills collaborating with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy components.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to minimizing errors and ensuring accuracy in all assembly tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Assembly: Building and preparing tube assemblies for weld and braze processes including rough trim, finish trim, clean tube ends and fittings.
  • Contouring assemblies to fixture and layouts to meet customer print dimensions
  • Using hand tools and machinery to assemble materials to specifications
  • Reading and interpreting engineering instructions, travelers and blueprints
  • Troubleshooting issues with products and reporting any potential issues
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints.
  • Tool Usage: Utilize various hand tools, power tools, and machinery, including precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers, to complete assembly tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Quality Control: Conduct visual and dimensional inspections using measuring tools to verify part conformance and ensure adherence to quality standards. Identify and resolve any quality issues during the assembly process.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations at all times, including handling hazardous materials and using personal protective equipment.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production and assembly activities, including documenting completed assemblies for traceability.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineering and quality assurance teams to resolve assembly issues and contribute towards continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and rectify problems that may arise during the assembly process to ensure the final product adheres to client specifications.
