An assembler is a skilled tradesperson responsible for the fabrication, assembly, maintenance and repair of oil and gas equipment and structures. Working from engineering drawings, weld procedure specifications and fabrication schematics. Assemblers build pressure vessels, process piping systems, structural steel skids and related oilfield equipment that meet ASME,API and customer quality standard. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Positions, aligns and fits up component parts, sub-assemblies, nozzles, flanges and structural members manually or with hoists and lifting equipment. Uses hand tools, power tools and shop machinery to cut, grind, fit and assemble parts to specified tolerances. Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit and securely fastening parts and sub-assemblies Verifies dimensions and specifications by measuring completed components with calibrated measuring instruments Uses squares, levels, tape measures and layout tools to ensure dimensional accuracy of structural assemblies Assembles structural steel skid bases, pipe racks, equipment supports, platforms, handrails and ladders for oilfield production Inspect cut materials for accuracy, squareness and surface condition Cleans and maintains work areas, tools and equipment at the end of each shift, maintains a safe, organized shop environment Comply with all safety policies, codes and regulations to protect the safety and health of all employees.
