About The Position

As an Assembler, you play a key role in producing high‑quality fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) tanks and components that support Mattr’s commitment to safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction. Reporting to the Production Manager or Shift Supervisor, you will use hand lay‑up techniques to join FRP components and build single‑wall and double‑wall shells, domes, and related products. Your work directly contributes to meeting production schedules while upholding strict quality, safety, and workmanship standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Able to work the 3rd shift Friday - Saturday - Sunday from 5 am to 5:30 pm required.
  • Strong production and quality‑focused mindset.
  • Ability to read and follow blueprints and drawings.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Capable of learning new tools, equipment, and materials used in tank manufacturing.
  • Basic math skills and the ability to solve job‑related mathematical problems.
  • Frequent climbing, balancing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, grasping, and handling materials.
  • Ability to distinguish size, shape, temperature, and texture by touch.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, dust, fibers, chemicals, and varying temperatures.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in fiberglass reinforced plastic manufacturing or a similar environment is preferred but not required.
  • Experience working with Lean principles is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Operate machinery, equipment, and hand tools to cut, shape, splice, and fit plastic materials into parts and assemblies.
  • Follow blueprints and drawings to accurately join shell halves using the hand lay‑up process.
  • Install fittings, gauge plates, manways, and other components.
  • Cut and prepare composite materials from patterns to assemble FRP products.
  • Make minor adjustments or repairs as needed.
  • Use grinders, trimmers, measuring tools, and rollers; perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Inspect finished work periodically to ensure it meets quality standards.
  • Record production information on process sheets and time cards accurately and promptly.
  • Perform other assembly‑related tasks as required.
  • Follow all company Health, Safety, and Security rules.
  • Maintain a positive safety mindset and immediately report any incidents.
  • Participate in safety investigations when required.
  • Work effectively with coworkers, leads, and supervisors to meet production goals.
  • Build strong working relationships and contribute to a cohesive production team.
  • Communicate clearly to support efficient workflow and problem solving.
  • Manage time, materials, and resources efficiently to support production targets.
  • Maintain quality standards and minimize waste.
  • Uphold safety and production expectations to prevent errors and incidents.
