About The Position

HF Custom (formerly Sam Moore), a division of Hooker Furnishings Corporation is looking for a Furniture Assembler to join their team in our Bedford, VA plant. Hooker Furnishings Corporation, in its 101st year of business, is a designer, marketer and importer of case goods (wooden and metal furniture), leather furniture and fabric-upholstered furniture for the residential, hospitality and contract markets. This individual will use hand tools and manual dexterity to complete furniture frames.

Requirements

Enjoy independent work and meeting deadlines
Enjoy working with numbers and metrics
Have previous assembly experience
Have a mechanical mindset and enjoy seeing how things are put together
Be able to lift up to 50lbs. as needed to move frames

Responsibilities

Using a variety of tools to assemble pre-cut and pre-fabricated wooden parts to form complete frames.
Keeping stock together and following production schedule.
Reading and comprehending simple instructions.
Performing basic math calculations.
Carrying out detailed written and oral instructions, and problem solving.
Standing for majority of shift, frequently walking; reaching with hands and arms.
