Requirements

  • Must be technically and mechanically inclined, including the possession of dexterity, the ability to use tools effectively, and mechanical intuition and problem-solving.
  • Ability to consistently handle and follow through with multiple projects and assignments and meet deadlines; ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities; ability to function effectively in a busy work environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail, professional attitude, and reliability.
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, organization skills, ability to prioritize, and be detail oriented.
  • Continuous and persistent follow-up.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, parts lists, and gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts, and subassemblies.
  • Verifies specifications by measuring completed components—resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifies supervisor to obtain additional resources.
  • Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs as needed.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; working with purchasing to place and expedite orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
