About The Position
Assembles metal products on shop floor by performing the following duties. JOB DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Positions parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled or following blueprints. Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets or other fasteners. Removes small quantities of metal with hand files and scrapers to product close fit between parts. Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor. Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow safety regulations. Operate a forklift.
Requirements
- Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Maintain quality, safety, and control standards.
- Sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
- Receive, track, and distribute materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Ability to perform simple arithmetic.
- Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
- Ability to understand basic verbal and written instructions in English; ability to read and write basic English.
