About The Position

The Assembler performs assembly of units or sub-assemblies. This involves operating various power tools, fixtures, presses, and hand tools for mechanical assembly. The role requires fine manual dexterity for handling small components and adherence to standard assembly, testing, and packing procedures. The Assembler is also responsible for completing rework or repairs, maintaining a clean work area, managing stock notifications, accurate labor reporting, and communicating production obstacles. Additionally, the position involves contributing ideas for process improvements, reporting safety issues, managing scrap materials, supporting team objectives, and actively participating in company strategies while adhering to company policies and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Fine manual dexterity of small screws, bolts, rivets, and other fasteners.
  • Ability to operate power drivers, fixtures, tabletop presses, rivet machines, gauges, hand tools & miscellaneous equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Operates power drivers, fixtures, tabletop presses, rivet machines, gauges, hand tools & miscellaneous equipment to perform mechanical assembly of products.
  • Fine manual dexterity of small screws, bolts, rivets, and other fasteners.
  • Performs standard assembly, testing, and packing procedures as defined, performs all jobs within the cell, and practices proper rotation strategies.
  • Completes rework or repairs as necessary.
  • Assists in proper setup of the cell by maintaining an orderly & clean work area.
  • Notifies supervisor or team leader if stock is required.
  • Practices proper & accurate labor reporting & completes attendance, labor transactions on data collection computer terminals as instructed and charts daily percentages as required.
  • Communicates obstacles regarding product flow, problem areas and production enhancements.
  • Contributes ideas and suggestions for improving production methods & equipment with the purpose of reducing product costs, while maintaining quality & safety standards.
  • Reports on all safety related issues.
  • Facilitates set-up of red scrap tables daily and completes scrap reports as required.
  • Supports the teams’ objectives by assisting in areas such as the set-up of red scrap tables, completing scrap reports, covering for team members as needed.
  • Supports the Andis Company goals & objectives by actively participating in the planning & implementation of company strategies.
  • Supports building security.
  • Adheres to company policies, safety rules & regulations.
  • Participates in problem solving opportunities, using the A-3 format when suitable.
