About the position

The Assembler position at Aerotek involves the assembly of large diesel and natural gas engines using various tools and equipment. The role requires technical learning and the ability to troubleshoot and repair engines during the assembly process. The successful candidate will work in a manufacturing environment that prioritizes safety and quality, with opportunities for full-time employment after the contract period based on performance and attendance.

Responsibilities

• Assemble large diesel and natural gas engines using hand and power tools, gauges, and specialized torque equipment
• Utilize electrical testing equipment, fork trucks, and lifting devices/cranes
• Manipulate engine components during the assembly process
• Learn technical aspects of engine assembly, including troubleshooting and repair of in-process engines
• Support safety, quality, and production goals of the area
• Use computer skills for various applications
• Read and interpret standard work in computer programs, engineering prints, and factory paperwork

Requirements

• Proficiency with hand and power tools
• Ability to read and interpret engineering prints and factory paperwork
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong technical learning abilities
• Commitment to safety and quality standards
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• 1-2 years experience in a heavy production environment or similar
• 1-2 years experience using hand or power tools
• 1-2 years experience following written work instructions, SOPs, blueprints, etc.
• Ability to pass written and hands-on assessment in training period

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in industries such as automotive, diesel technician, lube technician, tire shop, farming, construction, maintenance, and facilities
