About The Position

The Assembler/Welder supports the fabrication and assembly of enclosure components by performing basic welding, fit‑up, and mechanical assembly tasks under supervision. This entry‑level role (0–3 years’ experience) focuses on developing foundational welding and assembly skills, following work instructions, and contributing to safe and efficient production of enclosure frames, panels, and subassemblies.

Requirements

  • 0–3 years experience in welding, fabrication, or mechanical assembly.
  • Basic proficiency with MIG welding; exposure to TIG or Stick is a plus.
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
  • Entry-level ability to read and interpret drawings; training provided to build blueprint proficiency.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and use PPE, including respirators when required.
  • Strong teamwork, reliability, and willingness to learn.
  • Lift and maneuver heavy materials; operate tools and equipment as trained.
  • Stand, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods during welding and assembly tasks.
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions with exposure to fumes (with proper respiratory protection).

Nice To Haves

  • Welding certifications (e.g., AWS/ASME) or technical school coursework is preferred.
  • Familiarity with cranes or rigging; employer-provided training available.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with structural welding on enclosure components following drawings and trained procedures.
  • Perform basic mechanical assembly, including fitting panels, installing hardware, and prepping components for welding or final assembly.
  • Read and follow blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to determine weld and assembly requirements.
  • Support material movement and positioning using overhead cranes or rigging (training provided as needed).
  • Conduct visual weld checks, report defects, and assist with rework under guidance.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all PPE requirements, including respirators when required for certain materials.
  • Assist in setup and teardown of welding/assembly workstations.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and maintain workflow.
