Performs a wide variety of repetitive and non-repetitive bench or line mechanical subassembly and assembly operations of a skilled nature to produce products.
Determines methods and sequence of assembly operations where complete information is not readily available.
Follows assembly shop and production operation sheets, samples, drawings, schematic and verbal instructions.
Identifies and selects components to be integrated into subassembly and assembly units.
Makes own set-ups, alignments and adjustments maintaining tolerance in accordance with instructions.
Disassembles, modifies, reworks, refurbishes, reassembles, and tests units as required.
Follows production drawings, sample assemblies and verbal instructions with close supervision.
Interprets and works from schematics, drawings, work instructions and bills of material.
Makes accurate mathematical calculations and uses precision measuring instruments as required.
Uses a wide variety of hand and power tools to perform skilled fitting and assembly work.
Inspects parts and performs basic tests.
Tends machines, such as arbor presses or riveting machine, to perform force fitting or fastening operations on assembly line.
Works at different work stations as production needs require.
Performs intermediate testing, assembly and or disassembly of mechanical assemblies using both traditional and non-traditional tooling.
Mounts complex assembled components on chassis panel, requiring manual dexterity and the ability to work with hand tools.
Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture, or other holding device.
Crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, rivets, welds, solders, cements, press fits, or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place.

Experience in mechanical assembly and subassembly operations.
Ability to interpret schematics, drawings, and work instructions.
Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
Basic mathematical skills for calculations.
Familiarity with precision measuring instruments.
Manual dexterity and ability to work with small components.
