  • Performs a wide variety of repetitive and non-repetitive bench or line mechanical subassembly and assembly operations of a skilled nature to produce products.
  • Determines methods and sequence of assembly operations where complete information is not readily available.
  • Follows assembly shop and production operation sheets, samples, drawings, schematic and verbal instructions.
  • Identifies and selects components to be integrated into subassembly and assembly units.
  • Makes own set-ups, alignments and adjustments maintaining tolerance in accordance with instructions.
  • Disassembles, modifies, reworks, refurbishes, reassembles, and tests units as required.
  • Follows production drawings, sample assemblies and verbal instructions with close supervision.
  • Interprets and works from schematics, drawings, work instructions and bills of material.
  • Makes accurate mathematical calculations and uses precision measuring instruments as required.
  • Uses a wide variety of hand and power tools to perform skilled fitting and assembly work.
  • Inspects parts and performs basic tests.
  • Tends machines, such as arbor presses or riveting machine, to perform force fitting or fastening operations on assembly line.
  • Works at different work stations as production needs require.
  • Performs intermediate testing, assembly and or disassembly of mechanical assemblies using both traditional and non-traditional tooling.
  • Mounts complex assembled components on chassis panel, requiring manual dexterity and the ability to work with hand tools.
  • Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture, or other holding device.
  • Crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, rivets, welds, solders, cements, press fits, or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place.
  • Experience in mechanical assembly and subassembly operations.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, drawings, and work instructions.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
  • Basic mathematical skills for calculations.
  • Familiarity with precision measuring instruments.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to work with small components.
