About The Position

The position involves assembling and disassembling mold components such as cores, cavities, base plates, sliders, lifters, and ejector systems according to engineering specifications and drawings. The role requires inspecting, cleaning, and preparing components for assembly, ensuring all parts meet quality standards. The successful candidate will set up and assemble molds in a timely manner, produce high-quality products, and maintain a safe work environment. Participation in continuous improvement activities is expected, along with the ability to understand verbal and written instructions. The role also involves supporting an environment of growth and enthusiasm with other associates, performing precision fitting using manual tools and equipment, and verifying clearances, alignment, and operation of moving parts in assembled molds. Documentation throughout the building of the mold is necessary, and the candidate should be able to evaluate and recommend modifications or adjustments for the mold fitting. Ensuring conformance to specifications utilizing CMM, height gauges, micrometers, and other precision measuring devices is crucial to produce drawing-specified dimensions and ensure overall quality.

Requirements

  • 5 years' experience as a mold builder.
  • Mold assembly experience.
  • Inspection experience and ability to use precision measuring devices for overall quality.
  • Knowledge of proper health and safety measures.
  • Desire to learn and grow within the company.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of electrical wiring schematics.
  • Good math skills.
  • Understand and practice safe working methods.
  • Basic understanding of tools.
  • Willingness to work to ISO / QS 9000 standards and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Capable of performing physical tasks including pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
