Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow directions
  • Ability to read complex instructions in manuals, drawings, schematics etc. and to follow them accurately
  • Ability to use professional hand tools (socket set, Allen set, wrenches, snips, wire stripper, and crimper) and power tools (3/8” and 1/2” drill, screw gun, impact wrenches)
  • Dexterity and hand-eye coordination, including the ability to grasp, manipulate, and assemble parts and components that may be small
  • Successfully complete training to safely operate the overhead hoists/cranes to move and position large assemblies
  • Successfully complete training to safely operate various forklifts to move and position large assemblies and pallets

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all company safety policies and industry regulations
  • Read and comprehend detailed mechanical instructions and follow established procedures
  • Perform complex sheet metal assembly, with the ability to drill, rivet, screw, and bolt
  • Accurately position and align, either manually or with hoists/cranes, large components and sub-assemblies, which may include blowers, motors, burners, manifolds, compressors, etc.
  • Position individual parts and components by using templates or by reading measurement devices
  • Ensure all parts fit together correctly and meet construction standards for a quality final product
  • Assist the Paint Department, which may include lifting, moving, washing, sanding, and storage of unpainted and painted parts, when necessary
  • Other duties as assigned
