Requirements
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow directions
- Ability to read complex instructions in manuals, drawings, schematics etc. and to follow them accurately
- Ability to use professional hand tools (socket set, Allen set, wrenches, snips, wire stripper, and crimper) and power tools (3/8” and 1/2” drill, screw gun, impact wrenches)
- Dexterity and hand-eye coordination, including the ability to grasp, manipulate, and assemble parts and components that may be small
- Successfully complete training to safely operate the overhead hoists/cranes to move and position large assemblies
- Successfully complete training to safely operate various forklifts to move and position large assemblies and pallets
Responsibilities
- Comply with all company safety policies and industry regulations
- Read and comprehend detailed mechanical instructions and follow established procedures
- Perform complex sheet metal assembly, with the ability to drill, rivet, screw, and bolt
- Accurately position and align, either manually or with hoists/cranes, large components and sub-assemblies, which may include blowers, motors, burners, manifolds, compressors, etc.
- Position individual parts and components by using templates or by reading measurement devices
- Ensure all parts fit together correctly and meet construction standards for a quality final product
- Assist the Paint Department, which may include lifting, moving, washing, sanding, and storage of unpainted and painted parts, when necessary
- Other duties as assigned
