About The Position

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of direct experience in complex electronics or mechanical assembly within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven expertise in advanced soldering techniques (e.g., fine-pitch, surface mount, through-hole) and a strong understanding of IPC-A-610 standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and accurately interpret complex blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and written work instructions.
  • Proficiency in using a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, multimeters).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment with varying demands.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and accessing work instructions.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally and perform tasks requiring fine motor skills and repetitive motions for extended periods.

  • Technical certification or Associate's Degree in a related field (e.g., electronics, manufacturing) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Execute intricate assembly procedures for a wide range of electronic components, sub-assemblies, and finished products according to detailed blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Perform advanced soldering, wiring, and crimping tasks, demonstrating proficiency with various tools and techniques, including fine-pitch components.
  • Conduct in-process quality inspections and tests using specialized equipment to identify and resolve defects, ensuring products meet stringent quality specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose assembly issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions in collaboration with engineering and quality teams.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of manual and automated assembly equipment, including calibration and basic preventative maintenance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process inefficiencies, suggesting enhancements, and participating in problem-solving activities.
  • Train and mentor less experienced assemblers (Assembler I and II) on complex assembly techniques and quality standards.
  • Accurately record production data, including completed units, defects, and assembly times, utilizing manufacturing execution systems (MES).
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, cleanroom procedures, and ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) precautions.
  • Work collaboratively within a team environment, effectively communicating progress, challenges, and solutions to supervisors and colleagues.
