About The Position

Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Assembler III-1st Shift at our El Paso, TX location! The core hours for this shift are 7:00 am - 3:45 pm. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times. The hourly rate for this position is $18.39 per hour. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. The Assembler III is responsible for a wide range of skills including assembling, fitting and mounting subassemblies, components, and standard fixed assemblies in electrical control equipment. Perform assembly required for testing preparation and final inspection. Perform all assignments within the acceptable quantity and perfect quality requirements in keeping within assigned functions.

Requirements

  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Eaton El Paso, TX facility (50-mile radius) will be considered for this position. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation
  • Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.
  • 1 year of internal switchboard manufacturing experience OR 2 Assembler II certifications
  • Self-driven and able to produce desired results with minimal direction.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, persuasion, and analytical problem-solving skills. Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within a team environment.
  • Willing to work flexible hours and overtime in support of business needs.
  • Proficient with computers and programs including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and SharePoint.
  • Must work somewhat independently and make decisions that affect the workgroup. Focus efforts on attaining assigned goals and objectives, which include meeting the needs and expectations of internal and external customers.
  • You will contribute to a safe, engaged, and inclusive work culture by complying with all policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment, and performing 5S duties.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the assigned function from oral and/or written instructions and engineering drawings.
  • Use various tools, such as an impact gun, sidewinder, and drill to perform the assembly of switchboards.
  • Handle materials by following established procedures.
  • Maintain expected progress of jobs in the area of assignment and communicate problem areas or parts shortages.
  • Observe good housekeeping and safety procedures and keep equipment, tools, and work area clean and orderly by performing 5-S duties and continued dedication to raising the bar.
  • Lift 20 lbs. with reasonable accommodation as required.
  • Perform other functions and/or tasks as assigned
  • Flexing into other functions of the business
  • Ability to be a team player and work independently with a sense of urgency
