About The Position

In this function, you will: Perform simple repetitive bench assembly of parts and components Use bolts, screws, hand tools, clips and other fastening devices Work under close supervision and may work from models, samples, or simple diagrams Handle 50-pound parts to assist with large part construction Remove excess weld, slag, spatter, and rough spots from workpieces using grinders, brushes or scrapers. Support all facility Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives including, but not limited to: o Maintain 5-S (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain) throughout shop floor and office areas. o Track and sustain all visual management tools such as, but not limited to: layered audits, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) boards, and any additional LEAN tools that are deemed necessary to provide direction, goals and status to the shop floor. o Encourage, support, and actively participate in Kaizen improvements and events throughout the facility, department, and area of responsibility. No relocation is available for this position, only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the Reno, NV facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Demonstrated welding ability / knowledge - A welding demonstration is preferred Set-up and troubleshoot welding equipment. Examine and measure workpieces for defects and to ensure conformance. Ability to weld aluminum and steel. Ability to read blueprints and shop orders. Responsible for safety, quality, production quotas, and all documentation associated with product movement and confirmations. Position Success Criteria: Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format in English. Able to stand on feet continuously during working shift. Require fine manipulation of hands with repetitive motion. Troubleshoot and resolve problems as they arise. Handle materials that pertain to large part construction, weighing 50 pounds multiple times per day. Physical Demands: Able to stand on feet continuously during working shift. Able to regularly lift 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Occasionally lift more than 50 lbs. with assistance. Exposure to high noise level (ear protection may be required in some areas). Exposure to high traffic areas with forklift activity. Work environment exposes to oils, lubricants, and solvents.
