About The Position

Assemble materials and related products to satisfactory quality and efficiency specifications using hand tools, power tools, and other related equipment. Ensure the consistent quality of work while observing all safety standards. Must be willing to be cross-trained in other departments as needed.

Requirements

  • Less than high school education; and up to one year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to stand with frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and repetitive motion of arms and hands.
  • Ability to walk and use verbal and listening skills.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, calculator and telephone.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move 10-20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assembly, operating, and disassembly of materials and components through various processes including both hand assembly and use of hand and power tools.
  • Follow workplace safety practices and procedures as designated on all equipment and processes.
  • Operate general assembly and material handling equipment.
  • Identify work materials, move and position parts at work station to accommodate efficient lean manufacturing assembly techniques. Requisition parts and supplies.
  • Assist in final quality inspections and palletizing of assembled units as needed.
  • Keep work station clean and organized, according to 5S standards.
  • Must demonstrate a willingness to participate in company cross training programs; flex into other departments and positions as needed.
  • Proactively help to create and work within a team-based environment and practice effective communication and problem solving skills.
  • Train other team members and retain and apply job knowledge.
  • Notify appropriate personnel of machine repairs and/or any unsafe conditions.
  • Perform all work quickly, efficiently, and accurately. Maintain a satisfactory productivity rating.
  • Possess a working knowledge of material/ inventory identification.
  • Work from a manufacturing requirements schedule.
  • Performs other duties as required.
