About The Position

The position involves performing assigned assembly tasks in a manufacturing environment. Employees will prepare components prior to assembly, clean, mark, and inspect components, subassemblies, or completed assemblies. Proficiency in performing established operations within 2-4 area processes is required. The role also includes ensuring all paperwork is completed appropriately, setting up and operating assigned equipment and machinery, and observing proper health and safety procedures in handling hazardous chemicals. Employees must identify and report any difficulties affecting the correctness and quality of work in process, understand daily demand per Master Schedule Report, and create IT, Facilities work orders, and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for quality and material issues. Participation in cleaning the area and machinery, team meetings for improvement, and supporting Crane Business System (CBS) initiatives is also expected. Flexibility to work overtime if necessary and completing job-related company training courses are part of the role.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of Assembly experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and techniques for maximizing effective manufacture and distribution of goods
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in reading comprehension of the English language
  • Basic computer skills, including understanding of basic software
  • Accurate color vision, near vision, and depth perception
  • Manipulative skills, including finger and manual dexterity
  • Adept hand-eye coordination and arm-hand steadiness
  • Ability to interpret production or engineering prints and assembly aids
  • Ability to work well in a moderate to high paced work environment

Nice To Haves

  • IPC Soldering and/or Rework/Repair Certification
  • Experience maintaining equipment on a stringent calibration schedule
  • Designated Inspection certification
  • Ability to perceive and pre-determine sequence of operations and installation requirements from sketches and oral instructions

Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned assembly tasks
  • Prepare components prior to assembly, clean components, mark, and inspect components, subassemblies, or completed assemblies
  • Demonstrate proficiency in performing established operations within 2-4 area processes
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed appropriately
  • Set up and operate assigned equipment and machinery
  • Observe proper health and safety procedures in handling hazardous chemicals
  • Identify and report to lead or supervisor any difficulty which would affect the correctness and quality of the work in process
  • Understand daily demand per Master Schedule Report for the cell(s) they are working in
  • Create IT, Facilities work orders, Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for quality and material issues
  • Assist in resolution of Non-Conformance reports
  • Participate in cleaning of area and machinery and take part in team meetings for improvement
  • Practice safe work habits as established by OSHA and Crane policy
  • Proactively identify safety concerns or issues and work with the Engineering group to implement solutions
  • Support Crane Business System (CBS) initiatives including 5S, KPI's, Standard Work, Problem Solving, and other initiatives as they arise
  • Complete job-related company training courses
  • Be flexible and willing to work overtime if necessary
  • Perform any other task assigned by supervisor or management
