About The Position

This role is for an Assembler I at Medtronic's Grand Rapids, MI site, where you will be part of a dedicated, experienced, and high-performing team. The position is responsible for the day-to-day production and packaging of components used in medical devices. The work is performed in a clean room manufacturing environment, requiring personal protective equipment. Medtronic emphasizes an onsite work model, requiring a minimum of 5 days a week onsite to foster professional growth and cross-functional collaboration. Comprehensive training will be provided, and the role is a full-time, benefits-eligible, direct hire opportunity.

Requirements

  • No prior experience required; comprehensive training will be provided.
  • Ability to read and write in English in order to understand work instructions, safety protocols, and communicate effectively within the team.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely in writing.
  • Previous experience with assembly work.
  • Experience working in medical device manufacturing.
  • Background in automotive manufacturing or related industries.
  • Strong mathematical skills for measurement and quality checks.
  • Excellent hand dexterity for detailed assembly tasks.
  • Willingness and flexibility to support different production areas as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations.
  • Works from visual aids, method layouts, diagrams, schematics, process flow sheets and written or verbal assembly instructions.
  • Sets initial layouts, and uses a variety of tools to prepare product(s).
  • Make continuity checks on work in process and completed.
  • May conduct quality inspections on processing lines in accordance with quality specifications.
  • May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.
  • Operate microscopes as needed.
  • Alternate between standing and sitting throughout shift.
  • Working in a clean room manufacturing environment that requires you to wear personal protective equipment including eyewear, hair net and protective gowning.
