Located in York, PA, GEA Group is seeking an Assembler I to join their Production Team. This role involves performing electrical and mechanical assembly of units, including limited troubleshooting, testing, and preparing units for shipment within a Lean Six Sigma environment. The position is semi-skilled, requiring an elementary specialization and a sufficient understanding of simpler operating or office routines at a novice or elementary journeyman level, potentially involving the use of simple equipment or minimal operation of more complex machinery.

Requirements

  • Vocation Training or Less than 2 related assembly experience
  • Basic math skills
  • Comprehension of safety rules
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
  • Certified Vocational Degrees Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs all operations in the manufacture of standard compressor packages to required specifications and budgets.
  • Performs all mechanical assembly in the manufacture of compressor packages not welding related.
  • Performs all testing required per drawing instruction and special specifications.
  • Performs all operations necessary to prepare and paint standard product.
  • Assembles control panels.
  • Mounts control panel and installs the wire harness.
  • Performs control panel check out.
  • Performs other duties as assigned (for Standard Compressor Packages).
  • Performs all operations to required specifications and budgets (for CNC Plasma Cutting Equipment and Quickmill Machining Center).
  • Performs required programming (for CNC Plasma Cutting Equipment and Quickmill Machining Center).
  • Loads raw materials (for CNC Plasma Cutting Equipment and Quickmill Machining Center).
  • Unloads cut parts, deburr as necessary (for CNC Plasma Cutting Equipment and Quickmill Machining Center).
  • Performs routine daily maintenance (for CNC Plasma Cutting Equipment and Quickmill Machining Center).
  • Performs other duties as assigned (for CNC Plasma Cutting Equipment and Quickmill Machining Center).
