Summary The Insulator I position is responsible for the proper insulation all copper and/or steel lines. This includes all types of insulation utilized for refrigeration systems assembly.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Requires good attention to detail.
  • Must possess the ability to work and communicate effectively with other associates.
  • Requires concentration on the tasks assigned to the associate.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • The use of hands, arms, and fingers to utilize insulation knives and a tape measure.
  • Requires the ability to communicate via verbal instructions with internal associates.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Requires capability of performing essential job functions in an established manufacturing environment under normal lighting and climate control tolerances, with exposure to the presence of dust, fumes, noise, and fluctuating temperatures due to lack of climate control.

Responsibilities

  • Proper utilization and application of a tape measure.
  • Ordering correct type and size of insulation.
  • Validation of proper insulation thickness.
  • Cut insulation by specification sheet for job.
  • Proper application of insulation to piping.
  • Proper application of clad insulation to receivers.
  • Stocking of insulation in inventory area.
