Masonite is now proudly part of Owens Corning, a global leader in building and construction materials. The Assembler/Builder 1 position involves line assembling of doors in a fast-paced environment that requires a high level of mental alertness. Most work is performed below shoulder level and involves repetitive use of hands. Employees may also be responsible for light cleanup in their work area as time allows. Safe use of pneumatic fastener equipment is required for this role. The assembler will build various types of units within the Interior department, ensuring that all work meets the correct quality specifications as per customer requests. Responsibilities include reading and interpreting production tickets, measuring, cutting, and assembling components, and ensuring product quality throughout the assembly process.

  • Line assembling of doors in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform light cleanup in the work area as time allows.
  • Use pneumatic fastener equipment safely.
  • Build all types of units within the Interior department according to quality specifications.
  • Read and interpret production tickets; measure, cut, and assemble components.
  • Ensure jams are correct to unit size and maintain product quality.
  • Assemble door frames and attach to slabs using pneumatic and manual tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Bending, twisting, stooping, and pushing required.
  • Excellent dexterity and ability to work at a fast pace.
  • Ability to understand and read English is required.
  • Minimum High School Diploma is required.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Strong product knowledge and ability to read and interpret production tickets.
  • Ability to assemble all types of units accurately and timely to meet efficiency expectations.
  • Understanding of door handing and different species of jambs.
  • Knowledge of applying sills and hinges correctly.
  • Familiarity with fire-rated labels and their placement.
