What impact you’ll make: In the Assembler Apprentice Program will combine both academic studies and on-the-job training to develop the fundamentals required to become a skilled Assembler with GE Power. Job Description Program Summary 1-year program (registered with the Department of Labor) combining on-the-job training with coursework through local community college. On-the-job training will be based in either Turbine Assembly or Rotor Assembly/Rotor Repair Cells with shadowing opportunities outside the assigned cell. Apprentices paid for on-the-job training. Tuition, fees, and books will be paid by any available grants, scholarship funding and GE (via tuition reimbursement benefits). Mentoring, teamwork, and ongoing reviews. Training in safety, basic measurements, tooling, assembly, print reading, and many other manufacturing processes. Successfully complete the program and earn a GE Vernova Gas Turbine Assembly Technician Certificate. What you’ll do Hands on experience working in a manufacturing environment. Build fundmantal tooling, assembly, and operational knowledeg of heavy frame gas turbines. Personal development through coaching and mentoring. Ability to make a measurable impact. Entry into an in-demand skilled craft. Participate in Team activities for Human Resources, Problem Solving, 5S, Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing continuous improvements projects. What you’ll bring Strong mechanical and mathematical aptitude. Ability to maintain a minimum average grade of “C” or higher on all course work completed. Strong team member attitude, and the ability to work closely with other apprentices and trainers. Ability and eagerness to learn. Great communication skills. Manufacturing or applicable mechanical/electrical experience. Eligibility / Qualifications: Successfully pass an extensive interview process. Successfully pass all Assessments. Ability and willingness to work normal operating hours such as 1st shift (6:45AM-2:45PM), 2nd shift (2:45PM-10:45PM) or 3rd shift (10:45PM -6:45AM). Note: Apprentices will typically work 1st shift for the duration of the yearlong program. In addition, business needs may require overtime, or weekend shifts. Perform other assigned duties as required.
