About The Position

The position involves working closely with assemblers to improve the assembly process and maintain optimal quality. Responsibilities include conducting final and in-process inspections, interpreting drawings and documentation, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. The role requires passing written and practical exams to qualify as an inspector and maintaining inspector status through annual reviews. The inspector will be involved in inspecting various product families and ensuring that all required check sheets are utilized correctly. Active participation in continuous improvement initiatives is expected, along with timely execution of inspection duties to meet customer and company standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Problem-solving ability.
  • Experience with hand-held gauges and measuring equipment.
  • Computer literate with a working knowledge of Excel and Word.
  • Inspection and assembly experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work with and develop a team effort with the assemblers to continually improve the assembly process.
  • Conduct final and in-process inspection in the assembly area and provide feedback to the assemblers.
  • Interpret drawings and article text to ensure product conformity with paperwork.
  • Learn and pass written and practical exams to qualify as an inspector.
  • Maintain inspector status with annual review/tests.
  • Inspect all major product families including small enclosures, large enclosures, and OEMs.
  • Ensure all required check sheets are being used and filled out correctly.
  • Be an active member of the RPS teams by offering ideas for continuous improvement.
  • Perform inspection duties in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the process and product meet customer and Rittal standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
