About The Position

An Assembler is responsible for the assembly of motors, generators and drives. This position involves assembling various components such as rotor assemblies, exciter rotors and stators, rectifier assemblies, and final assembly of different types of motors. The assembler will also engage in layout, fabrication, and assembly of conduit and piping, as well as arc welding assemblies. The role requires the use of various tools and equipment, and adherence to quality standards and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • High School degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year manufacturing experience preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to be certified in overhead and Jib crane operation and forklift operation
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work in small teams to assemble product

Responsibilities

  • Assembles rotor assembly on synchronous, induction/turbo and laminated spider jobs
  • Assembles exciter rotor and stators
  • Performs rectifier assembly, steel, glastic and turbo diode wheels
  • Conducts final assembly of synchronous, vertical, turbo generator and induction motors
  • Handles other sub-assembly tasks such as FDR Assembly, main terminal box assembly, and GDS transmitter and exciter field power supply assembly
  • Does layout, fabrication and assembly of conduit and piping
  • Arc weld assemblies and sub-assemblies
  • Sets up and operates balance stand, large and Static
  • Engraves and places name plates and green tags on equipment
  • Works in other areas of the Assembly Team skills matrix
  • Prepares and paints product, procures lumber, shipping cartons, shipping supplies and tools
  • Prepares and packages shipments in boxes, skids/crates
  • Completes necessary QA/Customer documentation
  • Lifts and moves materials using forklift, pallet jack, overhead crane or jib crane
  • Demonstrates a commitment to Continuous Improvement by identifying opportunities in day-to-day work
  • Performs to ISO 9001 Quality Standards and abides by OSHA and EPA regulations
