About The Position

Responsible for various maintenance and installation tasks including but not limited to all system equipment. Operates all electronic test equipment, performing complex test, troubleshooting and repairs of subassemblies per complete and incomplete test procedures. Interfaces with customer personnel to solve problems and performs scheduled site installation as needed. Works in Depot shop environment on Printed Circuit Boards (PCB’s), subassemblies and other individual parts as required. This position typically works under general supervision and direction.

Requirements

  • Two year college degree or electronics trade school degree or military equivalent, desired
  • A minimum of six years’ direct electronics experience in digital/analogue circuitry or radio frequency principles preferred
  • Must be proficient in Windows based computer programs.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of personnel.
  • Ability to work in a hectic and noisy environment.
  • Ability to travel Foreign and Domestic.
  • Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Performs equipment installations, preventive and corrective maintenance, on-site troubleshooting, repairs and replacement of modular components.
  • Possesses ability to read and interpret complex schematics, parts/wiring diagrams, work orders, customer specifications, test instructions/procedures and engineers notes/memos to determine tests/equipment required.
  • Sets up and evaluates performance of subassemblies and assemblies.
  • Analyzes and interprets test data to determine if results are within appropriate specifications.
  • Diagnoses, locates and troubleshoots malfunctions as required; performs repairs as needed.
  • Prepares and maintains appropriate technical notes and records.
  • Uses counters, signal generators, tracking generators, synthesizers, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, digital interface units, basic hand tools and special tooling for detailed diagnostics of equipment.
  • Provides feedback to supervision and planning on time restraints and productivity goals set by management.
  • Trains, directs and assists lower technicians as required.
