Learn about the Danaher Business System which makes everything possible. This position is part of the Assay Development team based in Boulder, CO, and reports to an Assay Development Scientist. The Assay Development team is a product development group tasked with creating and maintaining tools which utilize NGS technology for precision medicine applications. We are responsible for chemistry formulations of our kitted NGS products, and the core bioinformatics pipelines that our customers use to analyze their data. As an intern on this team, you will work closely with your colleagues to help us expand the capabilities of our products and enable precision medicine in laboratories, hospital systems, and research centers around the world.

  • Design and perform experiments from wet-lab through data analysis, to develop NGS products for precision medicine applications.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, bioinformaticians, and research scientists.
  • Participate in scientific forums to both present and review experimental results.
  • Actively pursuing (or have already received) a degree in life sciences (biology, genomics, bioinformatics, etc.), computer science, engineering, or related field.
  • 1+ years of experience (can include school course work) with programming (Python, R, Bash).
  • 1+ years of experience with molecular biology wet-lab.
  • Research lab participation (industry or academic).
  • Graduate school.
  • NGS data analysis.
  • Genetics (cancer or hereditary disease).
  • Version control (Git/GitHub).
