About The Position

This manager will be groomed to take over as the incumbent prepares for retirement and will lead a small team in a well-established and critical producer of VTM compounds serving monogastric & ruminant species. You will learn ALL aspects of this VTM compound producing facility including production, processing, delivery and all office functions. THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY: Assist in the management and learn all aspects of the day-to-day operations for the mill including production, quality, maintenance, office functions & delivery Ensure quality products are delivered on a timely basis Facilitate the rotation of the work force in the different sections (receiving, mixing, bagging & delivery) Maintain quality in accordance with FSMA compliance protocols Evaluate operations and identify areas for continuous improvement Oversee and perform routine maintenance on facilities, equipment & fleet Maintain DOT compliance Observe and learn all aspects of the business functions in order to better manage them Continued implementation of the Safety Program protocols along with OSHA compliance COMMUNITY: Bancroft, IA Population: ~699 (2020 census) Parks & Recreation: Memorial Park, municipal pool with bathhouse, playgrounds, lighted tennis and softball courts, camping facilities, health club, golf course, bowling alley renovations underway Culture & Heritage: The Bancroft Community Historical Society Museum (opened 1976) showcasing local artifacts, with summer-hour access and educational programming Festivities like Fall Bonanza and Holidazzle punctuate community life Active Main Street featuring grocery, hardware, pharmacy, restaurants, fitness center, local bank, spa, auto services, and S&B Farmstead Distillery Median home value: ~$110K Cost of living index: ~81.5 (U.S. average = 100) Median household income (2024): ~$52.8K; housing affordability index very favorable (~184) Population density is very low, about 15 people per square mile Situated in north-central Iowa, bordered by Minnesota to the north and several Iowa counties on all sides

Requirements

5 years of feed mill management in either a commercial mill or grain elevator setting
Demonstrated leadership skills
Skilled in all aspects of milling operations
Hands-On and Effective Communicator
Successful team builder
Ability to establish credibility with work force and customer base
Strong track record of success in safety
Strong mechanical aptitude (maintenance/equipment knowledge)
Knowledge of FSMA guidelines and track record of compliance
Track record of providing a quality product on a consistent basis
DOT Regulations knowledge and experience

Responsibilities
