About The Position

The Aspire Coordinator is responsible for providing high-quality educational services aimed at empowering students to acquire skills necessary for success in postsecondary education, training, and employment. This role focuses on helping students earn a living wage and become contributing members of society, ensuring the best possible educational experience at the Miami Valley Career Technology Center.

Requirements

• Must meet all requirements governing teacher education and licensure.
• Must hold or qualify for certification in the instructional program.
• Possess an interest in preparing adults for a High School Equivalency, employment, or post-secondary enrollment.
• In-depth knowledge of content, curriculum, methods, materials, and equipment.
• Understanding of program budgeting is preferred.
• Ability to plan and implement lessons based on program and school objectives.
• Ability to move about in the classroom/lab to check student work and monitor behavior.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with teachers, students, and peers.
• Excellent human relations skills and ability to serve as a role model for teachers and students.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing educational services to students.
• Empower students to acquire skills for postsecondary education and employment.
• Plan and implement lessons based on program and school objectives.
• Monitor student work and behavior in the classroom/lab.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with teachers, students, and peers.
• Communicate effectively with students and staff, both orally and in writing.
• Make off-school visits to monitor satellite Aspire locations or confer with outside agencies as required.
• Work with business and professional groups and organizations as appropriate.

Benefits

• Salary per teacher salary schedule.
• Contract length of 185 days with applicable extended service days.
