About The Position

Operates the jack either manually or with automatics on a paver to adjust asphalt mat thickness and slope to obtain a finish grade product of asphalt on roadway or parking lots etc.

Requirements

• Experienced preferred but will train a willing and capable candidate
• Encourage a valid NC Driver License
• Willingness to learn multiple tasks of the paving operation
• Ability to abide by strict but necessary safety rules and policies
• Must be a reliable and trustworthy individual that will be a team player
• Maintain a good attendance and safety record

Responsibilities

• Operating a jack or screed on our construction sites
• Performing various skilled and unskilled tasks associated with asphalt paving and grading operations
• Operating the screed of the paver to obtain a finish product of asphalt laydown
• Using various tools such as shovel, rake, lute, broom, etc.
• Operating farm type tractor with power broom attachment
• Identifying problems ahead of the paver to make necessary adjustments of the screed
