About The Position

We have 86 quarries and 56 asphalt plants across Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, Arkansas, Texas, Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio. Rogers Group is seeking an individual for the position of ASPHALT ROLLER OPERATOR in our Northern Middle Tennessee Division located in and around Madison, Tennessee. The successful candidate for this role will have previous experience operating an asphalt roller or similar heavy equipment, and an uncompromising focus on safety excellence.

Requirements

  • Uncompromising focus on safety excellence.
  • Previous experience operating an asphalt roller or similar heavy equipment preferred.
  • Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move heavy objects.
  • Ability to work outdoors which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, to include nights, weekends, and overtime.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CDL license preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, clean, maintain and make minor equipment repairs or report malfunctions to Supervisor/Foreman.
  • Monitor asphalt temperatures and vibration usage for proper breakdown and finish rolling of asphalt.
  • Observe distribution of paving material to adjust machine settings or material flow and indicate low spots for workers to add material.
  • Promote, execute and adhere to the company's safety program and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
  • Participate as a vital team member and contribute towards the success of the organization, which may involve the provision of other technical and administrative support, as required.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned by Supervisor/Foreman
