Essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation): Perform a variety of tasks that will include having to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods of time, stretch, walk, climb and bend under potentially adverse field conditions and be able to perform visual tasks such as backup spotting and hear and react to back up alarms, per safety protocol Job functions include but are not limited to: Ability to perform asphalt paving in accordance with DOT, local commercial specifications Must partner with other crew members to pave roadways utilizing roller equipment and to perform additional tasks of other positions per plan specifications as instructed by supervisors to insure daily schedule/estimates are met Properly follow all company policies and OSHA/DOT regulations for safe working procedures and environment Ability to be flexible with last minute schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes Ability and willingness to work along the interstates and thruways Ability to withstand common vibratory motion associated with operation of most roller equipment and sometimes rough terrain

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
5 years’ experience civil heavy highway construction
2 years’ experience on roller or similar equipment
Familiarity with the State of NY and VT specifications, along with heavy highway construction and paving
Ability to travel as needed, including night work and weekend work when required
Must be able to adapt to and work in extreme weather conditions

Responsibilities

Perform asphalt paving in accordance with DOT, local commercial specifications
Partner with other crew members to pave roadways utilizing roller equipment and to perform additional tasks of other positions per plan specifications as instructed by supervisors to insure daily schedule/estimates are met
