Requirements

• One (1) year related experience is preferred
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to write simple correspondence
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft operating systems
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions
• Ability to work various shifts (days, nights, swings)

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor automated asphalt plant control systems to produce asphalt paving materials
• Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
• Assist in maintenance and repair of plant equipment using various hand tools, sledge hammer, cutting torch, welder, pneumatic hammer/drill
• Climb stairs/ladders to the top of the plant
• Travel and work away from home when required
• Work nights and weekends when necessary
• Work in various climate conditions, both hot and cold
• Report to work at the designated start time
• Work overtime when required
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
