About The Position

Rogers Group is seeking candidates to fill our position as an Asphalt Plant Loader Operator in Jonesboro, AR. The role involves safely operating and maintaining the asphalt plant and construction equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and servicing as needed. The operator will determine the proper quantities of materials needed to produce asphalt, adjust controls to regulate the flow of materials, maintain the speed of systems, and ensure the plant is operating at the proper temperature. Additionally, the operator will perform walk-around and site inspections for all equipment to identify and correct unsafe conditions, monitor inventory levels of all mix materials, and adjust production as needed. The position also includes supervising employees at the plant, training them as necessary, and troubleshooting production problems. Accurate completion of plant reports and documentation is required, along with daily cleaning of the control house and yard facility.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • General mechanical knowledge.
  • Ability to maintain safe working conditions.
  • Previous experience working with Asphalt environmental preferred.
  • Basic welding skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate and maintain the asphalt plant and construction equipment.
  • Determine proper quantities of materials needed to produce asphalt.
  • Adjust controls to regulate the flow of materials.
  • Maintain the speed of systems.
  • Ensure the plant is operating at the proper temperature.
  • Perform walk-around and site inspections for all equipment to identify and correct unsafe conditions.
  • Monitor inventory levels of all mix materials.
  • Monitor production levels and adjust production as needed.
  • Supervise employees at the plant and train them as needed.
  • Weld using an arc welder and cutting torch as needed.
  • Monitor plant site to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow.
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve production issues.
  • Accurately complete plant reports and other documentation.
  • Clean control house and yard facility daily.
